Our Services

We believe that everyone has the ability to contribute so we provide supported, individualised opportunities to grow, learn and develop within our gardens. We recognise that connecting with nature and spending time outdoors is important for us all.

Day Services

At The Seed Box we provide day services to adults and children with additional support needs who are presently unable to work in mainstream employment or who can find aspects of formal education challenging.

This provides meaningful, work-related activities for our co-workers, promoting and encouraging independence and social rehabilitation, as well as providing training in life skills.

We work across 3 sites - Banchory, Ballogie and Glen Tanar - where we practice in a holistic, person-centred manner, tailoring training plans around individual goals and ambitions, and work closely with other agencies, including social work and psychology, to deliver high-quality care to all our clients.

Think a placement at The Seed Box could be right for you or someone you care for?

We are able to take referrals via Social Work or directly through SDS Option 1 or by private arrangement.
Currently, our co-workers can travel to The Seed Box either by public transport, taxi, with their carers, or we may be able to provide transport for an additional charge – please contact us to discuss and/or arrange a visit.

Volunteering

Volunteers are a vital part of our growing community and help with many aspects of our work. We love people bringing their existing skills and knowledge and sharing that with others.

We provide a range of opportunities for volunteers to develop new interests and areas of expertise.

If you would like to volunteer with us we recommend visiting us! This is the best way of seeing what we do and we are always happy to answer any queries you may have. Please contact us to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

Wellbeing Group

In 2024, The Seed Box launched a new service to support wellbeing. There is growing evidence highlighting that engaging in gardening and connecting with nature offers profound benefits for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Our wellbeing service aims to support individuals who may be experiencing loneliness, isolation, low mood or recovering from physical injury or ill health.

This programme is grant funding dependant. If you have an interest in this service please contact us to establish availability.

Groups are small and supportive, led by experienced staff. Participants will benefit from engaging in horticultural activities, nature walks, meditation, and a variety of other nature based activities depending on interests.

Transport may be provided by The Seed Box to support attendance.

We also offer outreach activities to other groups and services.
